Before the 1st-Oct

I didn’t want to get political in here, as I don’t want to bore you with my rants, but…

Today the city of Barcelona filled the streets to block Spanish Government to raid Catalan Institutional buildings and political parties HQ (without a judicial warrant), also arrest public officials or “rebellion”.

Just for you to know, Catalan Govt. asked several times Spain for celebrating an independence referendum, and Spain always replied “Never. That’s not democratic” (derp!). The Catalan Govt. decided to keep going, and the Spanish Govt. started an embargo on ballot boxes and private mail, also assaulting newspapers, blocking websites, threatening the population if they dared to show up to the voting, and moved hundreds of police units towards Barcelona.

Today people quickly showed up to protect the public buildings (always in a pacific way, as the first to draw others blood loses), also in other parts of Spain people showed up to protest for the violated civil rights (expression, manifestation, reunion, suffrage…).

It is funny that the last time I draw something like that was today 2 years ago, when the Spanish Govt. threatened to stop a first referendum attempt. Putting stuff like this was typical in newspapers and pamphlets at the end of the 19th century in Catalonia, for political satire.

Translation (not in rhyme): “1. The Spanish State is back, using censorship, intercepting ballots, posters and mail, showing as a dictatorship. 2. They block accounts and threaten with the police, and without warrants they assault CUP’s HQ and Economy. 3. Also fill the port with police, as occupation task force, knowing that each day, they’ll have it worse. 4. The people gets aware, and block Passeig de Gracia, trapping those morons, who today killed democracy.”
